Starts In
Casablanca
Pace
Relaxed

Morocco changes as the road turns north.

Casablanca gives way to the Atlantic coast at Merja Zerga and Asilah, then Tangier, Tetouan and the Mediterranean shore. The final climb reaches Chefchaouen in the Rif Mountains.

Nine days allow the route to move between coast, city and mountain town without treating the north as an addition to a journey elsewhere.

Toward the Lagoon

The road north trades Casablanca for the Merja Zerga lagoon: a beach ride and a sunset picnic close the day.

The road leaves Casablanca for a different kind of coast: the Merja Zerga lagoon, a wetland known for its birdlife, and the quieter town of Larache nearby.

Where the source supports it, the afternoon opens with a horseback ride along the beach, closing with a sunset picnic by the water.
